Garden Bloggers´ Bloom Day May 2017

Dear readers,

This is the second time that I participate in Garden Bloggers´ Bloom Day hosted by Carol from May Dreams Gardens and I am happy to share some pictures from my garden with you today.

I am so glad the weather has finally become warmer and sunnier. Since I love roses and peonies, May and June are my favourite times in the garden. Last week the first rose opened its buds and since then gradually more and more roses have shown their beautiful blooms. Today , among other plants, I´d like to share some pictures of the roses in my garden and would also like to proudly share with you some pictures showing how my rose cuttings from last year are doing. I am looking forward to the beautiful garden pictures you share on Garden Bloggers´ Bloom Day!

Last year I tried myself in propagating roses through cuttings. Some cuttings were successful and developed into little roses that even have buds now. I am so happy to see them thrive and can´t wait to see in what colours they will bloom as I can´t remember which cutting is from which rose. I always find myself looking at the buds, seeing wether they reveal some spark of colour already.

As you can see this rose has developed into quite a large plant already and I counted 11 buds. Isn´t that amazing?!

This rose got many buds too and has also a very nice bushy growth.

I am so happy that I now also have a self-propagated moss rose as moss roses are said to be difficult to be propagated through cuttings. The bud shows some pink colour, which I am very delighted about as I love pink roses. Can´t wait for it to finally bloom.

Garden Bloggers´ Bloom Day April 2017

Dear readers,

Having written a short post yesterday, I didn´t intend to blog today. However, while looking at other people´s blogs (Christina´s organicgardendreams) I came upon Garden Bloggers´ Bloom Day hosted by Carol from May Dreams Gardens. Liking the idea a lot, I decided to participate. I´d like to share some pictures of my new garden, which as some of you might already know, I took over from my parents. Hope you enjoy!

I created these two borders in the middle of the garden last September. Before, it was all lawn there. At the end of the borders I positioned a bank, which at the same time is a rose arch. When I started the borders last year, my parents told me that the borders looked like graves. However, I personally really like the borders and I am sure that as soon as the plants have established and grown to a certain hight, the borders will look great. I already imagine myself walking through the two borders and also enjoying the plants while sitting on the bank. I planted many old roses in the borders and also some peonies, alliums, lavender and other plants and can´t wait for them to bloom. I am really excited about how the borders will look some years from now.

Usually I am not very fond of yellow plants, but I think this lime yellow blooms of Euphorbia characias look wonderful in combination with purple and dark red tulips.
