I hope you had a wonderful week and enjoyed your gardens! Now that the weather is better again, I spent a lot of time in my garden. Today I´d like to show you my new auricula theatre. I love auriculas and think it is quite a pity that they can hardly be found in garden centres in Austria. I first saw auriculas at a plant market in Vienna a year ago and have been collecting some since then. The great thing about auriculas is that unlike other plants such as roses, they don´t need much space at all, and thus even people with a small garden or terrace can build up a large collection if gripped by the auricula fever. I love pots that look aged and think that auriculas look great in such pots. Except the three pots in the reddish terracotta, I made the pots for the auriculas myself, mixing two different clays to give the pots an aged look. Since I wasn´t very keen on the blue plastic name tags I bought the auriculas with, I also made them new name tags. As you will see from my collection, I like the double auriculas the most.
Hope you enjoy!

Dear Lisa, you have a fantastic collection of auriculas! I agree with you, I like the double ones best as well.
AntwortenLöschenIt is absolutely terrific that you made the clay pots for your auriculas yourself. They look very pretty!
Enjoy your lovely plants!
Warm regards,
Christina

Dear Marijke,
Löschenthank you a lot for your comment! I don´t have a greenhouse. I overwinter them under my covered terrace.
I wish you a wonderful week too!
Best wishes,
Lisa
Making your own clay pots? ! Well done and the tags are so nice together. Love auriculas too, but they are rarely for sale in the Netherlands. I like the singe ones most. So Lisa is my favorite. I think you have bought it because of the name! Groetjes Hetty
AntwortenLöschenThanks for commenting Hetty! I love crafting things from clay, especially for my garden. I wonder why they are rarely sold. Seems like many people would be interested to buy them. Do you know Barnhaven-a primrose specialist? I read about it in garden magazines and think it is in the Netherlands. Yes, your right! I bought auricula Lisa because of the name, but I also like its blooms.
LöschenBest wishes,
Lisa
Oohh I'm jealous of your collection of auricles ... here in the Netherlands it's also hard to find them, especially in the big garden centers. You really have to go to fairs. I think the double is also the most beautiful ... but a good collection consists of all kinds. And how handsome of yourself that you made your clay pots, they look good ...
AntwortenLöschenDear Marian,
Löschenthank you a lot for your kind comment! I thought it would be easier to find them in the Netherlands. Such a pity, that they can hardly be found today. They are such nice looking plants. Garden centres in Austria don´t have them either. So the only chance to buy them in Vienna, is a plant market that takes place every spring in Vienna´s botanical garden. That´s where I buy my auriculas.
Best wishes,
Lisa
I love David Beckham and Lisa! You have a lot of uniquely colored and beautiful primroses.
AntwortenLöschenThanks for your nice comment, Sweetbay!
