May the year ahead be a happy one for you Lisa - lovely to see Salzburg - much quieter in the winter - I have only ever visited during the summer.
AntwortenLöschenThank you Rosemary! Although I live in Austria, it was the first time I visited Salzburg. I am sure the garden looks quite different at warmer times of the year. I will probably visit it again in spring and summer when the garden is flourishing and in bloom.
LöschenHappy New Year Lisa.
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful photo's.
Thank you Marijke!

AntwortenLöschenThank you Hetty!
LöschenDear Lisa, I have never heard of Mirabell Garden, but gosh, what a beautiful formal garden that is even in the winter time! I would love to see it in the spring and summer. I hope you visit it again and take lots of photos and post them on your blog. I love the orangery, too.
AntwortenLöschenWishing you and your loved ones a happy and healthy New Year 2017! Hopefully it will be a good garden year as well and your roses will thrive!
Warm regards,
Christina
Dear Christina,
Löschenthank you for your comment! Although I live in Austria it was my first time in Salzburg and I was also surprised by the garden. It is indeed formal, but compared to other formal gardens such as Schönbrunn in Vienna, Mirabell Garden is framed by these pretty old rustic natural stone walls, which give it a very natural look. These lovely walls are partly covered by climbing plants. Since it´s winter I could´t identify all the plants, but I found many climbing roses on one wall, and I would love to see them in bloom. I love roses climbing up old walls, it is such a lovely combination I think. So I will most probably come back there in spring this year and will take pictures and share them. Thank you, I am very much looking forward to seeing my roses bloom this spring. I am especially looking forward to the roses I took from cuttings last year. Hope they will all survive the winter and might even bloom this year. Of course I wish you the same for your beautiful garden and roses!
Best wishes,
Lisa
