Citrus tree exhibition 2017: Wiener Zitrustage

Dear readers,
today I went to Schönbrunn, visiting the 17th Wiener Zitrustage, a citrus tree exhibition. This was the first time for me to visit and  I really enjoyed being there. They had very nice displays of citrus plants and the smell was fantastic. Hope you enjoy!
Best wishes,
Lisa

This plant looked so lovely. I think it is a pelargonium, but I am not sure.

how to mix the right soil for citrus trees

I absolutely loved these old- looking pots.

There were also possibilities to buy citrus trees and other plants.

Seeing all these lovely citrus trees, I could´t resist to buy one for myself.

Its fruits are variegated, which I think looks very pretty.

I also bought this lovely pelargonium.

  1. Good morning dear Lisa,
You made wonderful photo's at the show. I could not resist to buy one if I have been there. But problem for me would be, where to put them in wintertime.
    Have a wonderful weekend ahead.

    1. Dear Marijke,
thank you! Yes wintertime is quite a problem for citrustrees here too. I don´t have a greenhouse, so I might put it in the hallway in winter. I also heard about garden centres that take your plants for overwintering and then give them back to you in spring. Though I haven´t yet informed myself about the costs for such an overwintering service.
      Have a wonderful weekednd too!
      Best wishes,
      Lisa

    1. Dear Hetty, your comment made me laugh! You always encourage me to buy and grow plants. My mum is quite the contrary. She always tells me" Lisa, don´t buy this plant, don´t buy that plant". She then also tells me why "This plant just flowers ones a year, this plant is prone to mildew, this one will be eaten by the snails. She has such stories for almost every plant. And I always answer"But mum, Hetty said I should give it a try".
      Have a wonderful weekend!
      Best wishes,
      Lisa
